Whitney & Tom got married on probably a day when the weather and lighting changed the most times during an 8-hour day! From moody cloudy skies in the morning to beautiful bright sunshine during their ceremony, and then back to rainy clouds in the evening, it was like having all of New England weather in one day! But we were up for the challenge.

Whitney & Tom live in NJ and got engaged in Hoboken where they met. We had the privilege to actually go out there with them and explore their neighborhood before the wedding. It was absolutely perfect. From every cuisine imaginable to a small little Italian festival happening right near the park Tom proposed. We got to experience Hoboken and its vibe perfectly before their big day back in Newport.

Newport Vineyards set the scene for the day with beautiful florals from the incredible Leslie Lee. Hair & Makeup by The Traveler Beauty Co. and entertainment by Unique Sounds! Literally, everything came together perfectly and we can’t wait to share a sneak peek of their day with you all.

Rainer & Carson threw the best 4th of july party you can go to - a wedding! Honestly, we love holiday weddings because it gives the chance for everyone to come together and family and friends to gather on a day they might not usually have plans. I know for us, 4th of July is either a hit or a miss, so when Rainer & Carson told us they’d be getting married that day, we jumped with excitement! We couldn’t wait.

Rainer always dreamed of having fireworks on her big day, and honestly, name a better day to get married where fireworks are literally in the sky all night long!

Taylor & Will had a beautiful wedding at Gurney's Newport Resort & Marina in Newport this October. We were so honored to capture these two and their love story for their family, and generations to come. We couldn’t be happier to share a little snippet of their big day before they receive their full gallery soon!

Meet: Taylor + Will

Last year when COVID hit, Brianna & Justin didn’t let anything stop them. They gathered their friends and family in a small local, and safe setting by a park nearby their house and said “I do”. So this year, when a literal tropical storm threatened their big day, they didn’t even let it phase them. In fact, they told me they heard a rumor that if it’s suppose to rain on your wedding that you go around and but rosary beads around your house’s yard, your venue, and even your hotel, and the Lord above will grant you beautiful weather….and let me tell you - IT WORKED! It was literally raining cats & dogs while I was driving to Newport for Brianna & Justin’s big day and just when I pulled up, the rain stopped, the clouds disappeared and it was a beautiful summer day in the ocean state.

This just goes to show you that these two are ready to go through any storm, any battle, any PANDEMIC together, as one. They are some of the sweetest people we’ve ever met, and are so caring, loving, and kind. We had an absolute blast heading back to our favorite venue (Newport Vineyards) and hanging out with the staff there after what seemed like a lifetime thanks to COVID.

We absolutely LOVE when clients refer us to their siblings. That’s why we were so excited to document Katie & Tyler this year after meeting them last year at Katies sister’s wedding (Featured here). We best part about their whole day was the fact that we knew everyone there. Katie & Jackie’s mom, dad, singlings, everyone knew us and it was so great catching up with them! Despite multiple hurdles thanks to coronavirus, Katie & Tyler still knew they wanted to tie the knot this year. If that meant a smaller wedding this year, and a larger one next, it was totally fine! We are so thankful to them, and their families for hiring us once again to capture the big celebration. We can’t wait to catch up with them again next year when we do it all over again! Earlier this month we had the absolute pleasure to document Heather & Chris’s intimate wedding at the beautiful Eisenhower House in Newport Rhode Island. Heather & Chris’s wedding ended up being on a cold, cloudy day but it made for some incredible photos! One thing we always tell brides is that as long as it’s not downpouring we’ll be good! Even if it is, as long as they’re up for it, we’ll go outside and take some incredible rain photos! Luckily, the rain held off and Heather & Chris were able to celebrate their day without worrying about anything! We’re so thankful for our couple’s who have a laid-back attitude and plan their wedding day with zero stress. Even if Heather was stressed, it sure didn’t seem it. She and Chris were the most welcoming, kind-hearted people we’ve ever met. We’re beyond thankful for them, their family and their incredible friends! Heather’s dad even mentioned us during his speech for saving Heather’s dress on the day of from getting attacked by a big pitbull (we ran in front and protected it at all costs). I cannot wait to share a sneak peek of theirs from the incredible day!

Planning a wedding is hard work. Now imagine doing it across the country 3,000 miles away. That’s what Megan & Robbie had to do. Plan a Newport wedding while live and work across the country in CA. Luckily they had their incredible parents to rely on to help find vendors, choose last-minute details and more. We were so happy that Megan’s mom, Wendy contacted us. It feels like just yesterday when we were all meeting at the Starbucks in Newport in December of 2018. Gosh! I can’t believe it’s been a year and we’re here already.

Megan & Robbie celebrated at the incredible Newport Vineyards, surrounded by their closest family and friends. We got to experience their weekend first hand. Wendy invited us to their rehearsal dinner hosted at their amazing Newport home, and we were quickly welcomed in like family. After getting to know Megan, Wendy, Robbie and Gordon over the past year we felt so connected to this group of people that when it came time to actually photograph them all, it was like photographing our best friends we’ve known our whole life.

I cannot wait to share this sneak peek with you. From Megan’s getting ready and Wendy crying to Wendy’s speech and me balling my eyes out (not pictured haha)…this wedding was filled with tears, love, and happiness. We’re so excited to share a sneak peek into their special day.

After our couples book with us, we normally meet up plenty of times before the wedding to not only go over everything and make sure that we’re all prepared for the day ahead but more importantly to get to know our couples, their story and their families. Over the past 8 years there’s only been a couple of exceptions where we’re usually unable to do so but when we arrive on the wedding day, it’s like we’ve been getting together all along. Liz & Phil were one of those exceptions.

Jenn, Oksana and I had an absolute blast documenting their day as it unfolded. It was almost like we were documenting our best friend. Nicole & Pete are two people who are clearly made for one another. Both of them have so much fun in everything they do. From photographing their getting ready, ceremony and reception they had us dying laughing or in tears for how beautiful their day was. Seriously! (Although that's not abnormal for me, I think I cry at every wedding. What can I say? I'm a big sucker for love). Nicole & Pete made me feel like I was just another one of their bffs on the wedding day. They didn't want stuck up formal photos of themselves and they didn't want a ton of family formals. They just wanted to have fun. So I made sure that happened. I even got on the dance floor and whipped out a few moves (I'll spare you the agony of seeing that) We had a blast photographing their day and cannot wait to show everyone all their photos. Here we go! It's the very first wedding blog of 2017! Who's excited to see a sneak preview into Lauren & Josh's beautiful day? I know I am! I was so excited to photograph their story way back when they first booked me last year. We quickly got to know one another, had an awesome Lovebird Session and before you know it we were at their beautiful day, smiling ear-to-ear and having a great time. 

Their wedding was at the amazing Quidnessett Country Club, a venue that I actually never had the chance to photograph at. However, I believe that gave me the advantage and a fresh eye! We had a blast with their wedding party, their family (especially Lauren's grandma who was on the floor from start to finish with some AWESOME dance moves), and their friends. Lauren & Josh sure know how to throw a party. Jenn and I even got on the dance floor and shared a few dances with everyone! We had a blast but more importantly, they had a blast and their photographs clearly show that.

2016 was one heck of a year for me. I took over 40,000 photos, photographed over 20 couples, and met some incredible people along the way. Thank you to all of my clients who made this year so much fun and exciting. You are what keeps me going. To be able to capture beautiful memories for you and your family to share for generations to come, is a true blessing. Thank you for choosing me to be your photographer and welcoming me into your special day with opening arms! Seriously - you rock.

I got to photograph Ashley & Patrick in -14 degree weather and pop a bottle of champign to celebreate us not dying of frostbite. Yup.

We suddenly now offer free dog walking services at your wedding.

I got to capture all your dance moves. Even those you didn't want anyone to see...

We captured all your reactions when you first saw one another...

And even managed to photobomb quite a bit...

We watched you read a lot of hand written letters...

And saw you open up gifts like a kid on Christmas...

It rained a lot, but that didn't stop us...

Because we had those beautiful summer days too...

We made you and your wedding party laugh...

While we also saw a lot of tears...

We photographed our first elopement and honestly loved it...

And we photographed our first Jewish wedding and loved it...

You all finally got to meet Jenn...

And we had many selfies together...

Overall we had a blast, and can't thank you enough. You're the reason why we keep this up because without you it would be tough.

Cheers to 2017!

I have a confession to make...At almost every wedding, I cry a little bit. But the story I'm about to tell you, may have you crying before the end of it. I try as a photographer to be in the moment 100% of the time. That means I'm experiencing the same happiness, sadness, sometimes stressfulness of my couples. With Annie & Chris, this was no different.

On a cold, rainy September day, Annie & Chris woke up ready for their beautiful Newport wedding planned. However, when they woke up to rain, as most of you could imagine, it wasn't what they expected. They still embraced the day with happiness & joy like they've always done in their relationship and with life. Much like their wedding day Annie & Chris had everything planned out for their life up until April of this past year when Annie found out she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. As unexpected as that was, they pushed forward with planning their big day and all the adventures ahead. Annie had surgery in May and started chemotherapy in June. Smack dab in the middle of all this, was their wedding in September. When I reached out to Annie & Chris to plan our final get together before their big day, she told me she had "something very important to tell me" I couldn't have even imagined that she would say "I have breast cancer".

Photography is more important than we know it. Sometimes people think all I do is "take pictures" however, it's so much deeper. I got a little teary eyed when Annie & Chris sat down with me for their meeting. I couldn't help but remember my papa, who passed away from cancer just a few years ago. I couldn't help but wish that I had more photographs with him, and of him. For all I knew, Annie & Chris's wedding pictures could be their only professional photos they would have of one another. It's a huge responsibility as it is, however, with the circumstances, it was even bigger. I remember getting in the car with Jenn on the way to Newport that day and I looked over and said "This is the most important wedding we have this year." 

As you can imagine, their day went off without a hitch! Sure, it rained, it poured. But that didn't stop us. We embraced each and every minute of it. Exploring Newport in the rain is quite the adventure. 

My favorite part of the whole day was when Annie's sister, Rachel gave her speech. Beyond being hilarious, her speech would go down for the best Maid of Honor speech I've ever heard. Towards the end, Rachel said something along the lines of: "Now, everyone here has been inspired by Annie and her amazing positivity, strength and courage but rather than pass the mic around and tell her, why don't we show her?" and everyone threw up signs of funny phases about breast cancer,  inspirational quotes from Annie, or just messages to her. I broke down in tears. I apologize to Rachel, Annie, and their family in advance. The photos are a tad blurry because I was shaking and so overwhelmed with emotion. I'm a big baby. I knew it was coming and I still cried! 

To Annie & Chris, thank you. Thank you for allowing me out of all people to photograph your big day. I know when choosing a photographer you look at prices, photos, websites, whats included, and that sometimes influences your choice, but besides all that - You guys choose me. You allowed me to capture your story, your next chapter in a beautiful, documentary style way. You became friends of mine rather than clients, and your photos, and your story became some of my favorite of all time.

Thank you to Annie's doctor Valerie Fein-Zachary, who without her and her amazing team, Annie & Chris could have had a much tougher road than expected. 

You'll be happy to know that Annie is fully 100% out of chemotherapy and is on the road to recovery. I hope this brightens up her day as much as she's brightened up my life.

You inspire me Annie & Chris. For that, I am forever grateful.
